Feed My Starving Children
The girls and I spent a few hours volunteering at Feed my Starving Children. Together with the combined efforts of many others, "we helped package enough food to feed a village of orphan children for one year". We had a good experience and learned many things about the starving children around the world. One important lesson... we are extremely blessed to live in America where we have so much!
Carlie is 2nd place winner in the Young Author's contest
Her story, Inside the Trunk takes place in the 1800's. It is about a young orphan girl named Elizabeth. When Elizabeth gets adopted (by a not so kind
couple) she decides to explore her new home. She discovers an oversized brass key in a secret room and as she examines the unusual old key her curiosity leads her to continued and forbidden exploration. Soon she stumbles, quite literally, over a wooden trunk that is tucked away behind an unusual door. Elizabeth realizes that the old brass key she found will unlock the trunk. She has no idea that the contents inside the trunk will lead her on a journey to find the greatest treasure of all.
